2018 Reunion Planning

We are taking the reunion group to the Maine Military Museum .  Lee Humistion has had the vision of putting this together and it is awesome.  He will be our speaker for the reunion.  He has 25 years service in many countries.   You can goggle the museum to see inside it and videos of him talking about it.    Here is what he ask of us.

Since we have time, could you put out the word the museum is looking for USN ship and other patches?  Thanks...  Lee

Thinking maybe anyone with extra LaSalle memorabilia could bring it or send it to me and I will get it to him for his museum.

Thank you,     Joe

Finally putting final touches to reunion plans.

Here is proposed plans:  Due to costs only planned group trip will be to

Bath and Maine Maritime Museum, this trip will be by car pool (30-45 MIN away)  This will give those wanting to stop in Freeport for huge outlet l and LL Beam store.  This visit includes a boat trip by Bath Iron Works where Navy Destroyers, including new Zumwalt Class are built.

The cost is about $28 per (will confirm on Monday).  Right now, rather than collating in advance, folks can pay at entrance to museum.

The banquet dinner will be FRIDAY evening, also planning a Lobster Bake at hotel WED or THU evening.

There are many sites within about 3 miles of hotel, i.e., Bug Light, Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse, Portland Head Light & Fort Williams, Two Light State Park, Maine Mall, The Lobster Shack (right on ocean).  Then there is downtown and waterfront where we're thinking of lunch at Emilio's on the barge.  Also close by is the Maine Military Museum (trying to get owner as guest speaker at banquet dinner).

Lenny the Moose and outstanding candy store is just down the road from hotel.  Hotel is right on US 1, good area map available in lobby.

Bus trips were quite expensive and took us on fixed routes where they wanted t go, min umber was 35 folks and we could not guarantee that many.

Cost per person should be approx. $100 to $130, and include both dinners, registration fee and event insurance (something new but necessary).  The $100 does not include Bath Museum fee, can collect if desired but will not know exact cost until Monday.  All other group lunches will be off the menu and own your own.  Portland/South Portland are small cities and quite easy to get around in.

For those arriving please let me know if you want to attend Lobster Bake and Bath trip.  Will sked THU evening and FRI AM to Bath.
